Joint Admission Test for Masters is an examination on the comprehensive understanding of the candidates at the undergraduate level in Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH). JAM scores will be used for admission to M.Sc. (Two-Year), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, M.Sc.-M.S. (Research)/Ph.D. Dual Degree M.Sc.‐M.Tech. Dual Degree and other Post-Bachelor’s Degree Programmes at IITs (Bhilai, Bhubaneshwar, Bombay, Delhi, (ISM) Dhanbad, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Mandi, Palakkad, Patna, Roorkee, Ropar, Tirupati and (BHU) Varanasi) for the Academic Session 2022‐23.

Why IIT JAM Score is Important?
JAM score will be used by IISc Bangalore for admission to Integrated Ph.D. programs. JAM score will also be used by other centrally funded technical institutions such as NITs, IIEST Shibpur, SLIET Punjab, and IISERs for admission to their postgraduate programs. However, qualifying in JAM does not guarantee either admission to postgraduate programs or any scholarship/ financial assistance.
Eligibility
JAM 2022 is open to all nationals (Indian/Foreign). Candidates seeking admission to the academic programs for the academic year 2022-23 covered under JAM 2022 need to appear in JAM 2022. There is no age restriction.
Exam Pattern
JAM 2022 examination will be conducted as a Computer Based Test (CBT) in ONLINE mode only. A candidate can appear for either one test paper or two test papers by paying an additional fee for the second test paper.
Candidates opting to appear for two test papers must ensure that they do not choose test papers that are scheduled in the same session.
JAM 2022 will have seven Test Papers, namely, Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH).
PATTERN OF TEST PAPERS JAM 2022 Test papers will be fully objective type, with three patterns of questions: (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions
